This morning I’ve been thinking about the TTRPG games I’ve run/played this year. A lot of fun.
Played: Shadowdark, EZd6, Ironsworn, Magical Kitties Save the Day, 5e
Run: 5e, Realms of Peril, 13th Age, Dungeon World

Looking forward to adding to both lists significantly in 2024.

EZ D6 is the most fun game I have ever run. My players tonight killed off the evil witch and her brood of frog demons after a long chase. Sorcery, blood, violence, and sacrifice were the order of the day. Next time they visit the deep woods and the hidden paths.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this idea from Ryan Imel: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CxJsQ1et-0v/?igshid=ODhhZWM5NmIwOQ== I used it as a "meanwhile in another part of the world" event in the #OSEAF campaign I run at a local museum. In my version, a feline-like demon invaded a Halfling village. Only 16 commoners stood between it and the vulnerable villagers sheltering in the meeting hall. Streamlined combat-- no damage rolls or HP. I used "strikes" (a la #EZD6) instead. My players LOVED it! (FYI the Halflings survived.) #ttrpg #dnd
