CW: Question about Excession by Iain M. Banks
spoilers
I've always been a bit confused by the infinite pregnancy relationship plot in this book.
In retrospect it seems like a terrible idea to send Byr Genar-Hofoen, and Dajeil Gelian off to a remote research outpost together. The Sleeper admits to Byr this was their call. And it says "it was a mistake"
Did the ship know that when it made the choice? Is it "eccentric" after all or just pretending?

#ElonMusk must face #Twitter #shareholders’ lawsuit over alleged #securities #fraud
A proposed class-action lawsuit against #Musk and his family office #Excession can proceed in federal court, a judge ruled Friday, after the #tech centi-billionaire sought to have the case dismissed.
The case is Rasella v. Musk (Case No. 1:22-cv-03026-ALC-GWG) in the SDNY.

@paul #excession is probably my favourite in the series. Fabulous world building, but always as a way to better tell the story.

I'm re-reading Iain M Banks' books again. I'm currently reading #Excession. The man was a complete genius. His Culture books are my favourite (with Alastair Reynolds' Poseidon's Children series being a pretty close follow-up).
At some stage Banks published a note declaring the Culture series to be a work of complete fiction. I'm not convinced. 🤔
