Writing About Another Art Form in a Novel
Successfully evoking a piece of music or a painting through words is not easy. Nor is it to bring a dance to life on the page, to capture the creation of a film or the performance of a play, or illustrate the shaping of a sculpture. Sure, you can describe it—but will it feel real to the reader? Writing about another art form within a novel, especially if you aren’t a practitioner of that art form yourself, can feel daunting. And yet many, many writers have achieved it successfully.

God grant me 3% of the chutzpah of a writer who posts page one of their first draft on r/writing asking for feedback
(meanwhile I have an actual published book that I'm too self-conscious to talk about)
