"...Karola Ruth Siegel was born in Germany in 1928, the only daughter of Orthodox Jews. She was 10 years old the last time she saw her father — from her apartment window as he was arrested by Nazis. It was November 1938, the day after Kristallnacht, and his detention was a clear portent of what awaited the country’s Jews. Shortly thereafter, her mother arranged for her to leave Germany for Switzerland as a member of a 300-strong Kindertransport. She never saw her parents again, and believes they perished at Auschwitz..."

Now we see what people say when they talk about Dr. Ruth. Will they ignore her having been a refugee in WW2? Will they ignore her time as a soldier in the Haganah, the pre-Israel Zionist army or will they demonize her for her being part of the quest for Jewish liberation?
Will they try to find some way that Dr. Ruth's message of sex-positivity is somehow the cause of society's ills? Will they claim that somehow this nearly 100 year old lady wasn't progressive enough (despite her being pro-LGBT decades and decades before it was socially acceptable)?

An amazing human.Before her explosive rise to stardom as America’s sex therapist in the 1980s, Dr. Westheimer was born Karola Ruth Siegel to an Orthodox Jewish couple in the German town of Wiesenfeld.
She was 10 years old when she was put on a Kindertransport train to Switzerland to seek refuge from the Nazis. She never saw her parents and grandmother again.
She spent her life helping people.
