  1. Anti-Abortion Groups Try a New Intimidation Tactic: Make Abortion Records Public

Abortion rights opponents want Indiana to use reporting rules to expose abortion providers and recipients to targeting.

  2. @randahl FYI, Democrats, this is him showing a weakness.

    Go after it!

He had a few lurches to the center at the #PresidentialDebate that were notable to me.

Suddenly adopting a George W Bush era position on abortion with the whole exception clause? After striking it for almost a decade?

That tells us Republicans are SCARED. Scared at seeing #DobbsVJackson backlash even among Republicans. Scared at how making #RoeVWade law is galvanizing voters.

Remember OH and OK in 2023!

  3. GOP knows #DobbsVJackson is a loser and the extremist #ivf and #contraceptives bans folks in deep red states will tank the GOP even in red counties so they will LIE.

They will say they are against national bans. They will say 6 week bans are crazy. They will scoff at Dobbs but really it’s Loving that they’re targeting. Don’t believe them.

  4. "Abortion rights activists, medical professionals & ordinary women warned the #SupremeCourt in advance of the #DobbsvJackson decision: Legislatures cannot dictate #medical decisions without creating horrendous injustices & medical travesties...

The #Texas case undermines the rationale for abortion bans and adds to #Republicans’ political liability on an issue uppermost in the minds of many voters."

  5. "It’s been a year since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that states could criminalize all or most abortions, and now 15 states fully or mostly ban the procedure, while others have begun enacting gestational limits and other restrictions."

"Investigators had interviewed nearly 100 Supreme Court employees in the probe, 82 of whom had access to... copies of the draft majority opinion by conservative Justice Samuel Alito."

    Yes? And...?

"But neither Alito nor the court's other eight justices were eyed in the probe, according to an official report on the investigation."

    Oh. Figures:

Supreme Court probe fails to find who leaked abortion ruling

  7. It's been really easy to focus on the fear and defeat, but this retrospective of the #abortion fight from the Guardian helps to put the whole picture into focus without betraying the truth of what's at stake.

  8. #Abortion was widespread in Colonial and 18th-century America.

In fact, Benjamin Franklin inserted an abortion recipe in a popular textbook he republished in Philadelphia in 1748 without any scandal.

“The decentralization of the woman’s experience, plus the medicalization of her feelings that led to that decision, are facets that belong to the long-gone 19th century,” writes a scholar of 18th-century America.
