  1. #Auckland - Free #LoveFoodHateWaste Workshop: #Microgreens and #Sprouts - #Devonport

    Sunday, 30 August 2026
    2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

    Devonport Library
2 Victoria Road, Devonport, 0624, Auckland

"Join Sarah Williams at #DevonportLibrary for this Love Food Hate Waste Workshop – #GrowYourOwn micro-greens and sprouts.

Learn how to cultivate these nutritious greens at home, from seed to harvest. Participants will make their own tray of micro-greens to take home, so please bring a plastic container and lid such as a shallow take away container.

Micro-greens and sprouts have nutritional value and are also a cost effective green food that you can grow in your home all year round, saving plastic and food waste.

We’ll get hands on and make dips and dressings using the micro-greens and back of the fridge items – showing you how to get creative with reducing food waste.

The workshop will also cover practical advice on how to avoid food waste in the kitchen including how to store fresh produce to help it last longer.

This Love Food Hate Waste workshop is proudly supported by #AucklandCouncil, #DevonportLibrary and is delivered by #CompostCollective.

Spaces are limited, booking is essential."

"Join Sarah Williams at Devonport Library for this free Love Food Hate Waste Workshop – peels, pulp and stems.

These are parts of fruit and vegetables that are usually thrown away or composted but are often edible. This would suit those who are already on their food waste reduction journey and want to learn more as well as those new to the subject. We’ll get hands on and explore some techniques that can easily be replicated at home.

The workshop will also cover practical advice on how to avoid food waste in the kitchen including meal planning and how to store fresh produce to help it last longer.

This Love Food Hate Waste workshop is proudly supported by Auckland Council, #DevonportLibrary and is delivered by #CompostCollective."
