Microgreens have nutritional value and are also a cost-effective green food that you can grow in your home all year round, saving plastic and food waste.

Join Wei for this Love Food Hate Waste – Matariki workshop. Bring a few vegetarian soup ingredients such as herbs, garden produce, or simply veges in your fridge that are edible, just looking a bit tired. Together we will make a warm hearty soup to share.
We will be learning about each #whetū (star) and ā rātou tohu o te taiao (their environmental signs); Reflecting on the knowledge of kai we have each learned from our own ancestors. Practical advice about how to be creative with your fresh food and leftovers will be given, to help them last longer. Making the most of the food we have helps save money and is better for the environment. We will play a few games and sing waiata together to consolidate our learning.
This is a hands-on activity. Please bring your chopping board, knife and your taste buds along.
