Have been thinking for some time that the proliferation of #aislop has something in common with the #debasement of the currency that was practiced in old times when coins contained silver or gold.
The objective of the "coiner" was to get the face value from others, but give them something intrinsically less worth.
Reminds also of #shrinkflation, reducing the size of products just enough to pretend it's the same, and thus keeping same price.
In any case it's poisonous for social contracts.
