I really enjoyed drawing Astrid’s elegant long lines and those beautiful red braids, but most of all how there is something very mysterious about her, which even made a floating pose work.

Did some #croquis drawings using #croquiscafe fast sketch as the reference. 1-2 minute poses are still hideous, but these 5-minute ones turned out better than I probably had expected. Should do this more often, it is a merciless but very effective excercise.

February was #figuary, when #croquiscafe shared a new figure drawing video every day! The model on day 21 was Nova, who has an amazing number of very different faces – and for whom they built a tiny pond (!) in the studio! To match that scene, I added my own forest background.

On day 6, Léa Déru was posing. I really like her elegance, her soft edginess and the way her poses are always special and recognisable, like a handwriting. To me, that's an art form of its own – and a good reason to once more pause the video and take time to draw!

@irisluckhaus @Curator Nice, thank you! I was able to find that pose in #croquiscafe 🙂 I’m glad that I found that site when started to learn drawing, especially croquis and figure drawing. I’m not saying I have gotten anywhere yet, but it is a great resource with loads of nice models and reference photos. I also like the FastSketch section in class mode, where it gives you first some quick warm-ups and then longer poses, sort of ruthless but very educating.

This was day 3 with Heff, and I really liked how she posed on a stool which stayed in place during the session, so I wondered how "illustrated double exposure" might work with the movement here, and liked it.
