Sprich: Wird ab einem bestimmten Datenvolumen heimlich oder offiziell die Bandbreite reduziert und damit quasi eine Obergrenze des Backupvolumens forciert?

Ansonsten erwäge ich tatsächlich einen Umzug von Jottacloud zu Crashplan, denn im Test funktioniert das ganz gut.

Aktuell scheint #Crashplan die beste Option zu sein, da ich hier Netzwerklaufwerke mitsichern kann.

Wenn ich mittels sshfs den #immich-Server mounte, sollte ich selbst den mitsichern können, oder?

Just came back from a client who had a 24TB RAID not start up (individual artist/pro); after calling me about it, found offsite backups had been turned off 2y ago and they hadn’t noticed “we couldn’t charge your card” email from #Crashplan so…no #backup

Success! I replaced the unit, moved the drives over and it fired up! 😅😅

That could have been VERY bad.

I got them set up on #Backblaze, we discussed local backup options and monitoring and all is well.

The time to check backups is now

@htn I'm using #Veeam on the endpoints to back them up to the #TrueNAS box, then a second TrueNAS box offsite doing #ZFS replication over a #WireGuard connection. When I ran the numbers, it was the cheapest #backup solution for my nearly 40TB dataset. If you have <10TB, #Crashplan Pro is actually a very attractive option. Just be aware that if you need to backup from anything #BSD (including TrueNAS Core) you'll have to set up a Linux VM with mapped shares.

#AWS #S3 Glacier Deep Freeze is somewhat price-competitive, but the process of getting data to that storage class is convoluted enough that I worried about much larger bills than I expected. #GCP has an equivalent storage option that's about the same and seems less confusing. For any cloud backup like this, you'll end up paying for egress if you have to restore anything.

So I guess I've been neglecting the backups on my old-ass #linux server for a while and #Crashplan tells me that it's 4 months behind... sigh.
It's getting increasingly cumbersome to manage, I'm really tasting the hubris of having over 3TB of files backed up off one Core2Duo system 😅

I'm thinking something akin to #crashplan, as opposed to local mirrors.
