When you don't fund your transit system, you can't install things like protective gates (to keep people from falling onto the tracks), train maintenance ("We're investigating why a train's brakes activated near 21 St-Queensbridge"), and create/run redundant routes that people can fall back on when things break. Thanks #CongestionKathy (and Cuomo before that)

Basically NY (city and state) requires you to sue them to get anything done around here. I've personally got a lawsuit against the city with two more suits about to be filed..

RT @streetsblognyc A federal judge issued a definitive (and sometimes scathing) ruling against some of the supposed "working class" New Yorkers who #CongestionKathy claimed to be championing.
The tone of Judge Lewis Liman's ruling suggested little patience for the prevailing objection to congestion pricing as a burden on the working class or that driving into the most congested part of the city should be free because it has always been so.

RT @streetsblognyc Hat tip CM Julie Won for crashing an anti-congestion pricing presser and for supporting a state law — overturned by #CongestionKathy — that would reduce traffic, clear the air, save lives and save billions in lost productivity. Here's how it looked on the street. Video by @pwbnyc

RT @streetsblognyc The Federal Highway Administration gave its final blessing to the congestion pricing plan, officially affirming that it wont have an adverse impact on the environment.
#CongestionKathy, the ball is in your court.

RT @streetsblognyc #CongestionKathy claimed to reporters that she wouldn't show at the $10,000-a-ticket reception, but that's not what a spokesperson for the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association told us.

What I'm hearing on #WNYC is that people who organized their lives around driving a lot (like living in Brooklyn and working in Westchester) would be inconvenienced by #CongestionPricing. It's easier to demand continued cheaper access to traffic clogged highways than to reorganize their life to include public transportation or a shorter commute.
Change is hard 🤷🏽♀️

RT @streetsblognyc In Midtown, we ran into Ernesto, the caretaker of Paley Pk. He described himself as “a regular guy” and takes the bus from Bayside every day. He’s angry about #congestionkathy killing congestion pricing and slowing his commute. But he doesn’t own a diner so she won’t listen.

RT @saraklind New marching orders: tell #CongestionKathy to order NYSDOT Commissioner Dominguez to sign the VPPP agreement and start congestion pricing.
And tell Dominguez to have the courage to sign the agreement even if this feckless Governor tells her not to.
