We can do this in #Cambridge. #London, #Toronto, and #Vancouver too. It's not a funding issue, but one of political will.

I did some election canvassing today, in a Toronto neighbourhood which has had bikelanes installed within the past couple of years.
When asked about the issues people cared about the most, it was a very consistent divide:
- Old men: "You can't drive here anymore! Traffic is crazy! Someone needs to knock sense into council."
- Young parents: "I have kids, so of course I'm really concerned about road safety."
I did this at least 30 times and almost every time the majority of motorists ran the red light and through the green pedestrian crossing while people were crossing.
Walk, cycle, take public transport, today and every day — if you can't, vote so you can! It's world car free day!

Tenía que considerarse una infracción al menos moderada estar con el vehículo parado sin más y el motor en ralentí.
Aclaración: excepto si el vehículo realmente necesita potencia o estas a pleno sol y tienes que pone el aire acondicionado. No me vale estar a la sombra o cuando la temperatura ambiente no te sube de veinticuatro.

One of the less recognised pollution related to cars is light pollution.
Cars require a lot of street lighting that is on all night and the urban sprawl that cars encourage means there needs to be a lot more area with bright street lights.
Large LED billboards are only there to advertise to people driving past at high speed in cars at night.
