@haubles @FediThing @hamishcampbell @swf @evanprodromou @mallory @tomcoates
I am talking to these people about being responsible, am not sure if they can hear anything, but it's worth a try.
In the sense of #openweb that's a good question, currently all the projects I worked on the last few years are on standby, the most relevant one to this subject would be the #OGB you can find information on this https://unite.openworlds.info/Open-Media-Network/openwebgovernancebody
On this subject, some of the quotes from this project are telling towards the end https://hamishcampbell.com/corporate-presence-in-the-fediverse/ very relevant for what we talk about today
In a practical senses I am fitting out a bigger lifeboat, if we keep making this mess, we really will be set adrift #climatechoas
But you mean tech, maybe I am getting to the grumpy old man stage of life, it's the next generation's job to stop making more #techshit
Shovels and composting come to mind.

The right-wing are taking the tools, traditions and the myths of the left wing
The phenomenon of the right-wing appropriating the tools, traditions, and mythos of the left wing is a complex and multifaceted issue. This strategic attempt by conservative forces to reshape the political and cultural landscape by co-opting symbols, narratives, and strategies traditionally associated with progressive movements. It poses a significant challenge for the left, as it risks diluting the effectiveness of progressive ideas and undermining efforts to achieve social and political change.
To effectively mediate this repurposing and ensure a better-balanced outcome, the left must engage in strategic and proactive measures. Here are some tools and approaches to considered:
Reclaiming Narratives: The left must actively reclaim and assert control over its narratives, symbols, and values. This involves articulating a clear and compelling vision for social justice, equality, and solidarity, and consistently communicating it through various channels, including media, art, and grassroots organizing.
Counter-Messaging: In response to the right-wing's appropriation of progressive rhetoric, the left should develop counter-messaging strategies that expose the contradictions and falsehoods inherent in conservative narratives. This will involve fact-checking, debunking misinformation, and highlighting the real-world consequences of right-wing policies and agendas.
Cultural Production: The left can leverage the power of cultural production—such as music, film, literature, and visual art—to promote progressive values and inspire social change. By creating and amplifying cultural works that reflect the diversity, resilience, and aspirations of communities, the left can challenge the hegemony of right-wing cultural narratives.
Community Organizing: Grassroots community organizing remains a potent tool for social and political transformation. The left should prioritize building strong, inclusive, and resilient communities that are capable of mobilizing for collective change and challenge. This involves fostering solidarity, building alliances across diverse constituencies, and empowering left voices.
Policy Advocacy: The left must continue to advocate for progressive policies and reforms that address systemic inequalities and promote social justice. This includes campaigning for issues such as economic redistribution, healthcare access, environmental protection, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ issues. By advancing concrete policy solutions, the left demonstrates its commitment to improving the material conditions of real world communities.
Critical Engagement: Finally, the left should engage in critical dialogue and reflection on its own internal dynamics, strategies, and blind spots. This involves interrogating power relations within progressive movements, addressing issues of privilege and exclusion, and fostering a #4opens culture of accountability and self-critique. By continuously evolving and adapting to changing political realities, the left can remain relevant and resilient in the face of right-wing co-optation.In conclusion, navigating the challenges posed by right-wing appropriation requires a proactive approach that combines strategic communication, cultural production, community organizing, policy advocacy, and critical engagement. By reclaiming its narratives, values, and agency, the left can effectively mediate the repurposing of its tools and traditions, ultimately contributing to the change we need in the era of #climatechoas and worship of the #deathcult of the right.

#ClimateCamp was a radical grassroots direct action movement to directly challenge #climatechoas and raise awareness about climate change and advocate for solutions to mitigate its effects. The movement was made up of a loosely organized network of activists who used a diversity of tactics to achieve their goals. Climate Camps were established in many countries. The movement reached its peak in the late 2000s and early 2010s and had a significant impact on public debate and government policy.

Hey! Go follow @tinyhousewarriors
They need followers. They need to get their message out.#climateaction #indigenous #reconciliation #landback #climatechoas #wetsuweten folks. (Also @MarkRuffalo )

The mess we are in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDfp-QsH51w in common sense, the is no left-wing only center and right-wing.
For the ongoing #climatechoas rush, this is going to be a problem that kills millions and displaces billions of us.
Ideas matter.
-
A lot of people are riding this mess into #climatechoas future. The "truth" is obvuse that this is #deathcult worship.
-
@humanetech @404 people are adding to the mess, yep we cannot keep doing this "normal" behaviour in the era of #climatechoas
#mainstreaming is adding to the mess, you would be right to see "evil" in people who do this with out "understanding" as the mess is piling all around them.
It's the time for shovals and composting, we need to dig ourselves out of the current tech shit piles.
Words matter. Keep things simple, build FROM simple, compost the shit.
A shoval #OMN
-
We all face a simple choice, Revolution or the #climatechoas you can already see building around you. Yes at the moment it's a choice... But one or the other is coming... Likely both at the same time if you dither. Ideas for a better outcome please #OMN
-
@natecull @bob we face a simple choice, revaluation or the #climatechoas you can already see building around you. Yes at the moment it's a choice... But one or the other is coming... Likely both at the same time if you either. Ideas for a better outcome please #OMN

@kat what we have in our current #dotcons mess is http://hamishcampbell.com/2021/07/04/brining-meaning-is-a-hard/ and the sporns of the dead #pomo ideology is taking up a lot of our social space that we need to survive and flourish in the era of #climatechoas
Ps. I like to keep things "simple" thus use a lot of metaphors to give space for thought.
-
@kat ok there is "religion" echoing from you. The is way to much intolerance in the contemporary world for us to survive as a culture in the era of #climatechoas ideas to step away from this mess?
-
@dsfgs the #deathcult is embedded in most things we eat, all the built environment, most social organisation so its "all of us" yes some of us have taken a few "steps away" but its the air we breathe #climatechoas
-
In the face of growing #climatechoas and our attention being trapped inside the #dotcons I see most people as complete fantasists and see the worship of the #deathcult as their main motivation.
In the next 5-10 years I see a lot of BLOCKING and lots of blowing of smoke to cover this behaver.
I live on a lifeboat, it's not a metaphor.
-
The #geekproblem is coding for Serenity/security/certainty where it does not exist - this is the root to the withering tree of digital fascism.
It's anti-human not surprisingly.
The #geeksolution is trusting in humane networks to build their own workflow of "trust" this is the root to #4opens democracy.
This is human, all to human.
Yes I really do use the word "fascism" as this is where the current #techshitpile leave us with the pushing of #climatechoas driving righwing politics.
-
#climatechoas matches the rise of the #deathcult worshipping of the last 40 years. https://youtu.be/1ZQG59_z83I The widespread death and social disintegration of the next 50 years is a DIRECT result of YOUR actions for the last 40 years. You keep voting for this mess, you have to pick up a shovel and compost this shit, and you need to do this now, this week, not next year #XR
-
Human nature is not a fixed thing, the last 40 years of market fundamentalism shifted it very noticeably. Why do we keep going down the path of greed and selfishness as the core motivator - this is a bad feedback loop were in and will kill billions due to #climatechoas other ideas ideas than "green" capitalism might be needed.
-
We have worshiped a #deathcult for the last 40 years. The logic of dealing with a pandemic is social, the logic of dealing with #climatechoas is social.
Its past time to try socialist path.
-
Disaster in, bigger disaster out of the EU in the era of #climatechoas we need to think and act outside the worship of the #deathcult this is a simple thing to understand #XR
Change the subject, leave the #dotcons, vote progress as a first step. Convert our society's to #4opens production.
Its not a hard thing to do. But it is a hard thing to do it.
-
Use #hashtags to brake out of the #filterbubles in the #dotcons the one i use for the #climatechoas discussion is #deathcult as #XR reveled it as outreach to much more mainstream people. The problems we face is that almost everyone comes up with "sulutions" to climate change that are still within the #deathcult so no real sulution at all. Continuing sad and bad.
