Demand for single-gender spaces, including bars, gyms and co-working hubs, is rising in China as women gain economic power and prioritise peace of mind and safety. Women-only community spaces in China offer a safe environment where women can freely discuss intimate matters, seek support and escape harassment. Economic independence and educational opportunities are enabling women to focus on their own needs, while social media, especially RedNote, has exposed many to alternative lifestyles and communities.

#Pioneering female #Chinese #American physicist Chien-Shiung Wu, who worked with Robert #Oppenheimer on the #ManhattanProject, was also the first to confirm #QuantumEntanglement – just 14 years after Albert #Einstein questioned the phenomenon. The largely forgotten achievement was included in a profile of Wu, one of the most influential experimental physicists of the 20th century, published in the December 2024 issue of Physics Today.
Wu is also believed to have been the only Chinese scientist involved in the Manhattan Project, the World War II initiative to develop an #AtomicBomb led by Oppenheimer, who affectionately referred to her as Jiejie, which means elder sister, the article said.
Wu’s experiment – detailed in a paper published in 1950 – was conducted before the #scientific community had fully grasped the significance of quantum entanglement, the article noted.

I got over predictable attacks from folks who don't like voices of angry Asian women several years ago. They loved labeling #AsianWomen / #ChineseWomen like me as #AngryLittleAsianGirl & I ran with it, instead of letting it stop/silence me. People who weren't comfy with my anger were same kinda folks not OK with me speaking up often on human rights, patriarchy, internalized racism & misogyny, environmental racism & other issues that are very important for me to speak out about.
I won't shut up.
