I was out at Chanonry Point yesterday filming for Channel 5, all went well and we even had some dolphins go trundling by - among the nine or so that we saw were these two, my namesake "Charlie" is the dorsal fin on the left, his buddy Clyde is the smaller fin on the right. #ChanonryPoint #Dolphins #Nature #PhotoID

Too windy for boats again today sadly, yesterday I could just about hold the camera steady enough for distant shots of #dolphins around #Chanonry Point... (clockwise from top left) "Porridge" waiting in the Narrows, "Sickle" and her youngster, "Scoopy" 's fin and then a closer pass of the shore by Sickle & youngster. #dolphins #nature #wildlife #DolphinsOfMastodon #ChanonryPoint #Scotland

Well, we got some snow last night. Conditions at Chanonry Point on the Black Isle were fairly epic for today’s dog walk!

When I go for a wander at Chanonry Point on the Black Isle, I tend to have my attention on the east side looking out to the North Sea. As you come around the southern point heading back to the car park, you get a view west of the Moray Firth with Inverness in the background. The clouds and sky on this day were fairly dramatic as the weather passed by.

Dolphin watching at Chanonry Point 🙂🐬
...doubtless those around here with bigger cameras and longer lenses will have better photos but the fact this is handheld from the phone suggests how close they came around the headland. Perfect timing after the walk down the beach from Rosemarkie

It has been a very quiet few weeks for seeing the local Bottlenose dolphins in the Inner Moray Firth around Chanonry Point, the winter period can be quiet anyway as they spend a lot of time further out to sea. The most reliable time to see them up here in the Moray Firth is from the end of March onwards, once the salmon run picks up. #dolphins #MorayFirth #Wildlife #ChanonryPoint #DolphinsOfMastodon
