The secluded and beautifully located hamlet of Kilmuir on the north side of the Moray Firth, just over a mile along the shore from the Kessock Bridge but rather further using the maze of single track roads on this side of the estuary. 'Findhorn Bay Sunset', watercolour, 74 x 53 cm. I sketched for this sitting on the veranda of a very nice house by the bay; in the evening stillness you could hear the voices of the people on the boats. Nowhere does sunsets like Findhorn Bay! (in northern Scotland)

Although this young female Bottlenose #dolphin (whose name is "Doyle") was born in the Moray Firth, using a dorsal fin identification technique called Photo ID plus liaising with Irish colleagues we know that at present her and her calf and a couple of friends are off the West Coast of Ireland and have been there for a few years now. Talk about seeking pastures new... 🐬😍 #BottlenoseDolphin #PhotoID #MorayFirth #Ireland #Dolphins
