Living in rural Boulder County & enduring Ironman every year, I'm definitely on the side of the ranchers here.
Biking is great. Bike races suck. The riders & the races don't care at all about the rural communities they use for recreation. All the money stays in the cities that host the riders. While we pick up the trash they throw everywhere. At least, we're a block off the race course, so they're not peeing & pooping in our pasture.
