Turns out to be quite an interesting #CrossBorderRail journey: just finished the first leg from Denmark to Hamburg in a packed old DB train, now on to Cologne, then Eurostar to Paris, overnight, and tomorrow morning to Etang via Nevers!
No public transport to the actual site of Bibracte, apparently :(

🚲📷 Grimper c’est bien, mais le but était aussi d’en profiter pour visiter le site archéologique et le musée de #Bibracte, vastes et intéressants. Maintenant je peux vous parler de l’évolution des techniques de fabrication de portes monumentales pendant le premier siècle avant notre ère 😂 (faudra pas poser de questions par contre 😇)

Near the centre of the #oppidum of #Bibracte there`s this basin made of pink granite. Its lateral axis `is the line of the #SummerSolstice sunset and the winter solstice sunrise. The oval itself is the result of complex geometrical calculations.` Perhaps `the sky-reflecting pool was the portal that linked the upper, middle and lower worlds, and the portal through which every human being passed.`
