  1. They actually gave it to Wareham for her all round performance. Litchfield a little unlucky there, but no serious quarrel with the decision.

  2. Third wicket for Wareham as Mlaba hits one straight to Gardner. South Africa 107 all out meaning that Australia win by 65 runs and get a good net RR boost as well as the two points. Phoebe Litchfield's blazing 50 when pretty much everyone else found scoring difficult should win her Player of the Match.

  3. A catch by King off Wareham gets Tryon and South Africa are 106-9 with numbers 10 and 11 together at the crease.

  4. Gardner pins Ismail LBW. It is reviewed, but purely as a matter of form because SA have reviews to use. It is duly confirmed as out and South Africa are 102-8.

  5. Another one gone as Jafta's attempted big hit finds Sutherland at long on to hand Alana King another wicket. Ismail gets off the mark with a two, moving South Africa to 101-7 from 15 overs, King 2-26 from her four overs.

  6. Looks a third successive comfortable win for the side batting first. South Africa now 97-6, needing 76 more with only 5.3 overs left.
    #cricket #WT20I #WomensT20WorldCup #AustraliavSouthAfrica #AUSvSA

  7. King given LBW, has sent it upstairs. Replays show the ball hitting the ankle of her back leg, smack in front of middle and off and that is 167-8 with three balls to go. Kim Garth in at number 10, meaning that skipper Molineux, a regular number four in domestic cricket, has put herself at number 11 in this match.

  8. Sutherland hits one mighty six down the ground but then holes out two balls later trying to do the same thing again. Australia 155-7 with two overs to go. Alana King promoted to number nine to have a bash in the closing stages.
    #cricket #WT20I #WomensT20WorldCup #AustraliavSouthAfrica #AUSvSA

  9. Perry drags one from Mlaba into her own stumps and it is 133-6 in the 16th over. With Carey due in next, and Molineux, Garth and King still to come Australia are not yet running out of batting.
    #cricket #WT20I #WomensT20WorldCup #AustraliavSouthAfrica #AUSvSA

  10. Sutherland was given out caught behind, but reviewed instantly, and the replay showed she was right to do so - the noise that induced the on field umpire to raise the finger was bat hitting ground.

  11. @_hypocaust This Aussie side bat the whole way down though - Alana King is officially scheduled to bat at number 11, which is frankly ridiculous.

  13. Litchfield reaches a half century of just 23 balls and then holes out to Wolvaardt, done by Khaka's change of pace. Australia 61-3 in the seventh over.
    #cricket #WT20I #WomensT20WorldCup #AustraliavSouthAfrica #AUSvSA

  14. Just looked at the line ups for the next match. Australia have so much batting depth that Alana King is officially at number 11. They have arguably six authentic all rounders in Perry, Gardner, Wareham, Sutherland, Carey and Molineux, with only Garth and King classed as mainly bowlers. South Africa's batting looks stronger than it did in their previous tournament, with Jafta at a more realistic number eight as opposed to the number six slot she had been occupying, but they have three out and out specialist bowlers in Ismail, Mlaba and Khaka, all of whom would be below Garth/ King in any batting order. Australia have won the toss and opted to bat, maybe noting that both the first two matches have been won by the side batting first, in both cases after an insertion by the toss winning opposition skipper.

  17. Zampa holes out to Bosch to give Ngidi his fifth scalp of the innings and South Africa the win by a thumping margin of 84 runs. Ngidi 8.4-1-42-5. South Africa 277, Australia 193.

  18. Nathan Ellis goes stumped by Rickelton off Muthusamy to make it 189-9, 89 still needed and the last pair now together.

  19. Bartlett joins the procession back to the pavilion, caught by sub fielder Corbin Bosch off Ngidi to make it 185-8, facing a total of 277. Four wickets now for Ngidi, most of them with the pace off ball.

  20. The dismissal of Inglis almost certainly guarantees South Africa victory in this match. He was caught behind, and briefly stood his ground hoping he might con the umpire into not giving it, but Illingworth raised the finger, and Inglis didn't review, which tells me that he knew all along that he had hit it.

South Africa winning the world test championship is good for the game. And they deserved the win - played smart.

  36. #Cricket #AUSvSA Congratulations to SA - finally did it after 27 years!

  37. Verreynne scores the winning single with the clock reading 12:46 on Saturday June 14th. The margin is five wickets, and 26 years after the first of many 'so near but so far' moments South Africa men have finally won a global tournament.

  38. CONGRATULATIONS SOUTH AFRICA!!! South African wins the ICC world test final!

This is great for cricket around the world!

  39. Verreynne levels the scores with a single off the last ball of the over. That means that SA have won the WTC, since even if they now lose all their remaining wickets in a heap for the match to be tied they topped the table during the league stage.
