George Washington Carver, best known for his scientific innovations, was also an artist who experimented with natural pigments since childhood. These paint swatches at the GW Carver Museum at Tuskegee show the color palettes he developed using natural #clay from Alabama. He freely shared recipes detailing the process of turning clay into house paint so that those with little or no money could still enjoy beautiful surroundings. #BlackFedi #AddToBlacksky #WildClay #art #BlackHistory

Just finished working on some pages for a kids' art #zine we're making for upcoming community #Kwanzaa celebrations. Each child will be given a gift bag with zines, stickers, clay and other little art supplies. Last year, I just attended the celebration and this year I'm happy to be involved. I've never celebrated Kwanzaa in my home, but its a really good way to feel connected and grounded in positive ethics.

FYI there’s a feed called Blacksky and it’s amazing and far less annoying than most other feeds It has moderation too @blacksky.app If your Black and want to be added just use the hashtag #AddToBlacksky If your white you can pin the feed and just enjoy viewing and engaging ✌🏽
