Aberrant Sequel
The zero draft is currently raw, visceral, and unpolished, but readable. I have a few spots available for any brave souls willing to venture beyond the curtain and get a first look. I am not looking for grammar police; I am looking for the big picture. Specifically:• Did the story grip you?• Did you find the characters relatable?• Where did the pacing feel right, and where did it need trimming? (The prose will be tightened and enhanced with the next draft) Timeline: I am hoping for a […] -

All it took was a bank holiday for me to FINALLY paint my first #40k model in about 25 years. Turns out I still overdo it with the dry brush but 🤷♂️. One #genestealercults #aberrant down, the rest of a Combat Patrol to go.

So last night's #BookClub meeting was curious. Only four of joined and one hadn't read the book, #Aberrant by Czech novelist Marek Sindelka.
Two of us who had read it are native anglophones and read it in English. The third is a Ukrainian woman who read it in Dutch. At a certain point we realised that the Dutch translation (with the title Winter Verdriet - common term for Seasonal Affective Disorder) was a different novel entirely than the one Susan and I had read. #bookstodon 1/ -

Chertow’s research has already encouraged experimental use of antiviral medications such as Pfizer Inc.’s #Paxlovid to see if it can root out viral reservoirs and alleviate long-haul symptoms.
Even a relatively small number of infected cells could provoke the immune system to produce #inflammation, blood #clots and other problems associated with long #Covid, according to Amy Proal, co-founder of PolyBio Research Foundation, a non-profit in Boston that facilitates research into chronic, infection-associated conditions.
It’s “the most logical explanation because it accounts for pretty much everything else,” she said.
Henrich, who helped develop sophisticated imaging techniques that can pinpoint HIV within tissues, plans to use the same approach to find Covid’s hideouts.
Dozens of patients will undergo a series of whole-body scans that will look for signals of production or persistence of viral protein.
Those will be compared with symptoms to see how the lingering presence of the coronavirus correlates to long Covid.
The group has started scanning patients to look for protective T-cells that could indicate an #aberrant #immune #response to SARS-CoV-2. They’re examining biopsies of participants’ digestive tracts for viral vestiges, Henrich said.

The last paragraph:
"Polygamy is a legacy of the early teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but the mainstream church abandoned the practice in 1890 and now strictly prohibits it."
Every group has its news-making weirdos.Modern/Mainstream Mormons are probably shaking their heads.
Dude is 130 years behind.
