With the possible exception of Mozilla because they’re the org that steers the entire root cert program, why does anything (curl, Python, Java) use its own separate root certificate store from the OS? It seems it would make a lot of sense if the list of certs I trust are centralised in the system’s trust store. Apps that use their own trust store are ignoring user preferences that, in circumstances like with eMudhra, could result in compromise despite taking steps to protect yourself.
