Attackers Hijack Ghana, Sierra Leone, and American Samoa DNS Top Level Domains
Attackers compromised the third-party registries for the .gh, .sl, and .as country-code domains and altered authoritative DNS records. This compromise let them pass automated domain validation and obtain valid HTTPS certificates domains in those ccTLDs, enabling potential traffic redirection to attacker-controlled infrastructure.
**If you manage domains, especially any domains ending in .gh, .sl or .as, check Certificate Transparency logs (for example, crt.sh) for certificates you didn't request, and have any you find revoked by the issuing CA. For all your domains, including parked and regional ones, add restrictive CAA DNS records that allow only your chosen certificate provider and account to issue certificates, so a future DNS hijack can't produce a valid certificate for your site.**
