(Though I feel dirty now, looking at anything produced by THAT rag!)
#Starmer really is scum...
The more I see of him the more I despise him.

"Compared to other countries, the UK does not spend a particularly high proportion of its national wealth on health care, while a decade of historically low funding increases has left services facing huge pressures and a workforce crisis. Like... how much is spent on health is a political choice and politicians should be honest with the public about the standards of care they can expect with the levels of funding provided."

To those who are determined to change the system, please note:
"There is little evidence that one particular ‘type’ of health care system or model of health care funding produces systematically better results than another. Countries predominantly try to achieve better health outcomes by improving their existing model of health care, rather than by adopting a radically different model."
It's ridiculous to expect first rate care on the cheap.

I watched the Channel 4 programme tonight 'NHS in Crisis? The Debate'.
Unless I blinked and missed it... Oh just at the very end Matthew Taylor has mentioned poverty...
I was about to say no one has mentioned austerity and the impact on the population, though there was some talk on the need for prevention rather cure
Krishnan Guru-Murthy squeezed in as much as he could, but it really needed a longer programme.

I'm no fan of Starmer, but when there are attempts to needle him on the topic of Corbyn, why doesn't he point out Sunak's history with Johnson?
He supported Johnson's leadership bid and was rewarded with the role of Chief Secretary to the Treasury. How fortuitous that Javid (finally) resigned on principle, allowing him to take up the role of Chancellor of the Exchequer. Where was his integrity at that moment?
People have short memories.

@Dolphinchaz thank you!
We usually see them regularly around this time of year, south of you in #WhitleyBay, but they seem to prefer #Roker #Sunderland at the moment, a little further south from me. 💙

I'm happy all is well with you and yours. We got take out - pasta and salad from our local Italian - and ate it looking out to sea. (Lazy I know!) These views are roughly a mile and a half from my house.
Have a wonderful weekend. :blobcatheart: 🤗 ❤️

@junesim63 first universities are (ridiculously) transformed into 'businesses', propped up in large part by the exorbitant fees charged to international students. (Don't get me started on the change in student attitudes as the fees increased, but that's a whole other topic.)
Then the idiots in charge decide to change the business model without consultation or alternatives.
'Tories REALLY don't know what the hell they're doing!

'Northern Lights' over Charlie's Garden, Collywell Bay in Seaton Sluice.
Will add more tomorrow (well, today actually).
We drove up to Cresswell - disappointing, though a lovely evening. Dropped down to Newbiggin... saw a bit of a show, but nothing special.
On the way home my daughter said "Look at that beam!" I pulled in when I could and it was amazing... it was almost like a rainbow in the dark. #WhitleyBay #SeatonSluice #NorthernLights

@alexadeswift @therightarticle Starmer has already 'burned his boats' as far as I'm concerned.
I wouldn't trust him in any situation. I don't think any "arse kicking and dragging" can fix a lack of integrity.
He needs to go. Not that I'm suggesting it will happen. Unless in power he makes a bigger mess than Sunak in which case heaven help us all!

It was excruciating watching Anneliese Dodds doing the media round this morning, with her squirming semantics.
Nothing can justify admitting Natalie Elphicke to the Labour Party.
She said she learned of the move 'when everyone else did.'
If this is his handiwork, the charmless wonder should offer justification.

Do take the time to read this brilliant piece.
It contains excellent explanations on the spread of COVID mutations/variants, why vaccination alone isn't the answer, why we should continue to mask and negative communications.

This is what over a decade of 'Tory mismanagement has done to national life. That schools need to host foodbanks should be regarded as a national scandal, yet it passes unnoticed by the media. It's a DISGRACE!
