  1. I don't think he was ever called by name in the movie, which is a shame. I hope sometime Hasbro will do one that can do the car and helicopter mode, but that might be pushing it for their budget.

  2. This is Dropkick from the 2018 Transformers Bumblebee movie! Not terribly accurate to his on-screen appearance but still a cool toy. In the movie he turned into a muscle car and a helicopter but this version of his toy can only do the helicopter.

  3. In robot mode he's a surprisingly close representation of how he looked in the Bumblebee movie! He didn't transform at all in that movie but him showing up was still awesome!

  4. Wasn't sure if I liked Core Class Shockwave at first, but the little guy's grown on me! The little H-Tank mode is a nice homage to the alt-mode he had from the Transformers Prime tv series.

  5. I was looking through my files, and apparently I used to be good at drawing Transformers?

In case you didn't recognize this femme, she's Bumblebee's short-lived (?) girlfriend (?!) From the Bumblebee movie tie-in comic. She's a Autobot turned Decepticon agent, and Bee's leftover feelings for her lead to some fun drama.

Oh, and her name's Diabla :blobcatfluffhappy:

Maybe in the next week or so I'll digitally ink her.

    [PDF] Making bumblebee nest spaces

"Having bumblebees nesting in the garden is a great way to learn about them. If you have a nest, you may at first just see a single queen carrying food to the nest, which she stores for her future offspring. A few weeks later you should see the first worker bees who will be helping the nests get larger, and hopefully they’ll soon be followed by new queens or males, which should mate with males and queens from different nests before the new queens go into hibernation.

Providing nesting sites for bumblebees can be as simple as just leaving a quiet spot somewhere such as a corner or behind a shed, and letting the weeds and grass grow tall. But if you want to go further than that, you could try making a bumblebee nest space yourself. We have teamed with up with the people at Hartley Botanic to produce this guide for making bumblebee nests. It may seem strange to think about nesting bumblebees in late summer, but if you make one now you may find that mice will use it over the autumn and winter. Bumblebee queens searching for nests actually seek the scent of mice when looking for nests. Having the mice in residence now could increase your chances of having your very own bumblebee nest next year.

So go on and have a go, and let us know if you have made any successful bumblebee nests yourself!"

  7. Hmmmm. I just came across a recipe for #HandSalve made with #Tallow that doesn't involve essential oils -- only herbs!

How to Make Herb Infused #TallowSalve
November 13, 2018 by Marisa Tolsma

    "Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups grass fed tallow balm
    1/4 cup dried comfrey leaf
    1/4 cup dried plantain leaf
    1/4 cup dried calendula flowers
    1/4 cup dried chickweed leaf
    2 tbsp beeswax

    Directions:

    - Melt tallow balm over a gentle heat until it is liquid.
    - Pour needed amount of tallow balm into a quart mason jar.
    - Add dried herbs to liquid tallow balm and stir to incorporate well.
    - Create a double boiler by placing the mason jar on a cloth inside a saucepan with water.
    - Heat the water until it comes to a low simmer.
    - Let the mason jar full of tallow balm and herbs sit in the simmering water for at least 3-4 hours, but much longer is better. I often let mine go 12 hours. Just keep an eye on it and replace water in the pan as it evaporates.
    - Strain herbs out of tallow balm using a metal strainer lined with cheesecloth.
    - Put the jar of herb infused tallow balm back into the double boiler, and return it to the gentle simmer.
    - Add the beeswax to the herb infused tallow balm.
    - Once beeswax is melted, stir to combine well.
    - Pour hot mixture into tins or jars to store.
    - Allow tins to sit until salve is solid.
    - Put lids on containers and store in a cool, dark place."

  13. CW: So, today we went to see the Knife Angel—knife based statue

it is, without doubt, one of the strangest public art projects I've seen, and I doubt it can in any way be helpful for it's supposed objective but…

it's very cool, and an impressive work. also quite large

it's on tour, if you get the chance it's worth a trip
