  1. Today two separate people asked me about (ortlieb) panniers. One in TJs on the escalator, the other outside at the falafel truck. I've been asked so many times by strangers about my various cargo bikes, but can honestly say I've never been asked about my panniers in at least a decade. To be fair, they're pretty new and in both cases they were extremely full!

  5. I had an air filter attached to the rear of my #Kombi, and then I realized that I couldn't shift. One of the cords that I had used to secure the hepa filter was on the derailleur.   10. Bike infrastructure CANNOT function as a transportation network unless there is reliability of service.

    Two sections of the Hudson River Greenway — in parts, the busiest bike path in the nation, are closed for many months — with a note (I mean detour sign) ‘good luck and don’t die there on Broadway along that truck route’.

    We thought a week ago that the new lane striping on Seventh Ave from Times Sq down to 34th looked suggestive, but it wasn't finished yet and we wanted to see more evidence.

    We rolled that way Sunday evening and discovered, there is indeed fresh kermit marking a new bike lane on Seventh.
