  1. RE: fairdinkum.one/@John/116564173

I just ate one of these store bought #feijoa. (Over $2 each!)

    I can understand the #pineapple & #sherbet comparisons. (Ate mine skin-on)

Strawberry though - just a bit. I guess it depends on just how ripe your Feijoa is when you eat it?

Watched a great YouTube vid on how to start the seeds in a ziplock bag with a wet paper towel.

I’ll be growing from seed & also have some small plants incoming from #DaleysFruit.

  2. Think of the second syllable of "sorbet" to remember that there is just one "r" in "sherbet," despite 7 million Google hits for "sherbert."

"Sherbet" and "sorbet" differ in dairy content in the modern North American senses, but the French "sorbet" once was just a variation of the Turkish "sherbet."

  3. You bastards! It’s all sherbet, and folly
makes you laugh like mules. Chances dance
off your wrists, each day ready,

    sprites in your bones…

  8. I once went into a "traditional" sweet shop and asked for a quarter (pound) of sherbet lemons and the shopkeeper said "Huh, can't sell quarters anymore - it's 100 grammes now. Another thing Europe can't keep its hands off".

So I said "yeah, it's terrible - not as bad as this 'metric time' thing though". And he said "What? What's that?"

So I said "you know, 100 seconds in a minute, 50 minutes in an hour, 20 hours in a day"...

  14. “It did not seem particularly alcoholic. It resembled a sherbet; most of my guests drank the first sample quickly and held out their glasses for a refill. Very soon it became apparent that the potion was singularly strong. The talk loudened. There was a great deal of laughter. Quite clearly the party would not break up at half-past six. Sheila…”

It’s #FruitFriday! Here are some goodies from the freezer: Sliced and frozen Moonglow pears and whole frozen American persimmons.

We give them a few minutes to warm a bit, then we eat them still frozen — like chunks of sherbet.

  16. This little beauty is our Windmiller Weiss Lemon Verbena Sour, which we haven't brewed since ooh.... well, a long time.

Brewed using the Lemon Verbena and Lemon balm plants grown on #WindmillHillCityFarm it's a citrussy sour with a delicate sherbet afterglow. And it's only 3% so perfect for those summer evenings.

It's only available at our Wells Road brewpub and The Farm Tap in Bedminster, while stocks last.

Who wouldn't want a beer that's used ingredients from as local as you can get?
