I had thought going in that #ARSPSG was a coin flip. Both teams are excellent on the press and both are good at passing in tight spaces.
I think PSG are more dangerous because of the quality of their forward players and their vision on the counter. I'd pick them for certain, but I don't have confidence in Donnarumma's consistency. That said, he was excellent today.

To be honest, I think Agyemang is called fairly often for the invisible foul of "being bigger than the other player". Most of her calls seem to come on challenges she makes on much smaller players, and when they inevitably come off worse against her big physical presence, assistant refs love a chance to wave their flag in the air.
I think it happens because a height mismatch like this means that a shoulder charge is nearly impossible for the bigger player to pull off properly, because she'd have to bend over to get shoulders lined up. So it inevitably ends up looking like she's bundled the smaller player over, when really it was simply that she was bigger and stronger. 🤷♀️

@mlawton @robchapman I believe he was frustrated by some online users correctly guessing what the development would be.
It looks like his motivation as a writer was fueled by imagining his readers emotional reaction and surprise. When the saga became successful and everyone talked about it his steam slowly ran out of fuel.Such a pity! He's one of the few writers fully capable of mixing intrigue, action, humour, psychological insights and suspense.

@s1m0n4 😆 you know I love seeing those boats. I could absolutely get behind a #boatoftheday campaign! 👏

The heat goes on. Today the temperature will rise to 32°C, so this morning I opted for an easy short run at 24°C.
When it's hot I stick to shaded park alleys and always bring water with electrolytes, even if I only run for 30'.
@mlawton The #boatoftheday is called Julia Atlanta 😉

I also think they missed badly on Marmadashvilli. I had kept an open mind for a while, but his unwillingness to come out and collect long balls and his panic booting the ball downfield have been concerns. Villa had great shot placement today, but many of those felt like other keepers (not just Alisson) would have reached them.
He was dreadful today.

We will miss Curtis Jones. His leaving is a a place in which I'm very critical of the management. I will never understand why Mac Allister gets more regular play than Jones. I can only hope that Mac Allister gets right in the offseason, but for me, the wrong guy is going out the door.

I was hoping for a draw, knowing that this was always going to be a rough away fixture. Villa are disciplined and the right kind of physical.
The injury-depleted attack effectively put too much on Ngumoha to do something individually. He tried, but doubling him was all they needed to do. Gakpo, out of position, is a hole in the offense.
Otherwise, it's set pieces, of which you'd be delighted to score twice in a match.
But for the tragicomic defense in broken play...

Ramos makes it 4-0 off a nifty backheel pivot from Barcola. 🗡️
No stoppage time given and it was a mercy. PSG were far better, even without the defensive miscues from Real Madrid.
I salute Modric in his last game for Real Madrid. Spectacular player at the end of a great run. 👏
