ich bin immer wieder begeistert, interessantes von kompetenten menschen aus deren fachgebiet zu hören. in diesem hörsaal von @dlf_nova spricht soziologe Aladin El-Mafaalani über seine sehr schlüssige hypothese, warum eigentlich schwurbler so viel rückenwind haben und misstrauen die gesellschaft zunehmend gefährdet. natürlich spielt #socialmedia eine rolle, aber "with a twist". auch erklärt er, was wohl gegen die #noafd nicht hilft

PSA: people like @AndresFreundTec do not provide their invaluable service because of some #infosec #vogon's checklist. imho, this is a case of how smart people do great work outside their box if they are allowed to.

for decades, i have been preaching strace/truss as the swiss army knife for #linux/#unix troubleshooting and performance analysis. there have always been alternatives, and not all issues manifest themselves in syscalls, but over the years i have solved countless problems with basically just syscall tracing alone.
with #io_uring this story now gets a lot spicier because system calls … no longer require system calls and become basically invisible to these tools.

#fluxcd is _the_ most under-delivering tool (compared to its marketing claims) which i have been "forced" to work with in recent times.
today
- it made it super hard to spot my own error where i had a string in a yaml instead of a []string
- i found out that it had never reported three warnings which helm did report
- failed to re-deploy automatically after a manual delete deployment …this tool has caused me so much frustration that i am really prejudiced now.

@stefano besides the quality of the music, what keeps on amazing me is how the #bbc produced #TopOfThePops with these massive tube cameras on cranes (also carrying a human operator) and fully linear recording.
there is a vibe to this style which is unmatched by any modern production.
