There's also academia.edu which lets you download papers from researchers' pages.Finally, I have no problem with using Sci–Hub if I can't get a paper any other way, tho it"s technically piracy (n. b. only affects publishers' profits since academics don't make any money from journal publications). The followup to this is that we got email later today saying that the concurrent session recordings would be available no later than Monday, which is after the meeting is over. From where I'm sitting, that means it's not actually a hybrid meeting at all, just one they're recording. #TAGC24

Okay wow so #TAGC24 was sold (literally sold, I paid money for this) as a hybrid conference, and the virtual experience has been, not to put too fine a point on it, dogshit. None of the concurrent sessions are zoomed live. The recordings which "will be available within 24 hours after the session ends" aren't. More than half the posters I've gone looking for aren't uploaded. I'm feeling pretty dicked around by GSA here.

Picked some kale from the yard before I went to work. Chopped it up and sautéed it with onions, garlic, and spices, then added some marsala, a can of black olives, also chopped up, and a small carton of chopped tomatoes. Finished with tahini and cheap balsamic, then we ate it with a mix of regular durum flour and chickpea flour rotini. #dinner #AccidentallyVegan #ThingsWeHad
