Du hast im der Konversation mit mir bewiesen, dass du dazu nicht nur fast nix weißt, sondern auch meine Erläuterungsversuche mit #whitesplaining versucht zu bremsen. Du bist nicht bereit, dazu zu lernen. Das ist nicht nur mit dem Thema ein echtes Problem, sondern ein Muster, welches dir andere Schlagabtausche hier beschert.

@dwf there's definitely a lot less enthusiasm (among us white/ cis/het/ males) when it comes to acknowledging our own actions, making it our genuine priority to stop causing/ participating in causing harm, and to really work on repairing painful impact we've caused! Speaking for myself of course.

Seems like every #twittermigration brings new people who find that #mastodon is lovely. And new people who worry that #mastodon is replicating white supremacy dynamics. And then new ways that the people who are most likely to be impacted by the white supremacy dynamics get told that their concerns are overblown. I would like this cycle to end, and for people who are most impacted by white supremacy dynamics to be believed without #whitesplaining. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

@timnitGebru In addition to banning #racist trolls, maybe it would also be worth it to call out general #whitesplaining in a dedicated group account or a particular hashtag? Some people here seem to have been living very isolated lives. One woman claimed to encounter the term #BIPOC for the first time (???) and went on to criticize it as too particularist. Calling out such cases would help to make the extent of the problem more visible to everyone.

@douginamug There is none. #mansplaining is decidedly gendered, same as #whitesplaining is decidedly racialized. Both terms reflect a power dynamic.

CW: Alltagsrassismus als Problem überall
Ich bin wahrscheinlich schon ein Bisschen spät dran, aber ich denke, es ist immernoch relevant: wenn Schwarze Menschen seit Jahre darauf hinweisen, dass das Fediverse (wie auch sonnst überall) ein #Rassismus-Problem hat und weiße(!) Menschen dann sagen: “nein, hier gibt es keine Probleme bzw. die Probleme werden direkt mit Blocken und Moderation gelöst“ , dann ist das eben schon ein Problem.
(Ähnlich wenn cis Menschen sagen: “ trans Freundlichkeit? Nö, gibts hier nicht, hab ich nie was gesehen“ ).
#whitesplaining ist wohl der Fachbegriff (danke @carl !). Und eine Ignoranz die von #WhiteSupremacy kommt.
Wichtig: Nazis sind nicht das Problem, die kann man tatsächlich einfach blocken (gab ist weg!) . Aber der #Alltagsrassismus der #Dominanzgesellschaft (ja klar auch meiner!) , der bleibt, der ist einfach da. Und daran sollten wir arbeiten, den (an uns) zu erkennen und zu minimieren. Statt zu leugnen, dass es diesen gibt.

Aus deiner Art, hier zu "argumentieren" wird mir langsam klar, warum du nur Ausschnitte aus der Schwarzen/BIPoC-Perspektive kennst. Wer wird dir erzählen, was du nicht hören willst, wo du doch immer recht hast.
Auch wenn du jetzt dein weißen-Privileg ziehst und aus der Diskussion um "unwichtige" Dinge gehst, bleibt die Hoffnung, dass steter Tropfen dir doch irgendwann Zweifel an deiner weißwissenheit zu Rassismus gibt.
