Just once I'd like to be carried by my character in a fighting game. I'd like to chuckle softly knowing that I'm mediocre but my character is busted.
Instead i am haunted by characters who give me what i want but don't interact with the game's systems well.

As someone who's played Pathfinder 2e and D&D 5e and likes #TTRPGs but never watched #CriticalRole
I dropped the #TheMightyNein after one awful episode. They introduce three groups of characters in relatively quick succession and somehow manage to make each less interesting than the last.
The animation is dope and I like the Voltron-esque art style but jeeeeeez the writing was awful. By the end of it I was rooting against most of the characters I'd seen.
Get that bullshit off my screen.

#FreeCAD (https://www.freecad.org/features.php?lang=en) is good but missing enough features to make me truly miss #SolidWorks
If pirating SolidWorks or using FreeCAD are my two options I'm actually not sure what I'd pick.
Honestly? If there was a #CAD3d option with a reasonable subscription ($50-200/year) that didn't make me relearn my workflow I'd definitely pay for that.
Onshape is online only and makes all your designs public unless you pay them $1500 a year, which.... nah. Hell nah.

There's a scene at the beginning of Kaiju No 8 (https://anilist.co/anime/178754/Kaiju-No-8-Season-2/) season 2, episode 4, where the main character shows up to provide backup. The woman who's already there addresses him.
The sub: "You're always so slow."
The dub: "You'd be late to your own funeral."The difference there is so stark and so important to why I like #animeDubs It's got more personality. It's better dialogue. It's funny. #Dubs over subs every time.
Adjacently, this is why I hate isekai #Anime: The studios only dub so many shows each season, so when they only pick the latest slate of generic isekai light novels to get dubs, I directly get fewer shows I'm interested in watching. I don't wanna watch power fantasy wish fulfillment harem shows.
Plenty of cool, unique, interesting shows are sitting in the "no dubs" folder of my anilist.

So I'm warning you.This is the one. What we all hoped he would do after the Drake beef this summer. It's dope. It's listenable. It's not exceedingly high concept, but it's got enough twists and turns that you won't see all of them coming.

I think I could go back to 1st year of college, which is now 15+ years ago for me.
Hindsight is a beautiful thing, now that I realize that my two biggest issues were:
being irrepressibly, unabashedly thirsty
and undiagnosed #ADHDI think taking the 'catch-up' math class for engineers, talking to a doctor, and getting a headstart on how to see women as friends first and then as relationships would make that first year at UCLA waaaaay easier to survive. Also picking clothing and grooming with an eye towards "how do the kind of women I like interpret these choices?"
Get my diagnosis and my pills, do my bid in the past, come home with the cash.

I binged it last week with my wife. The two main characters are nuclear terrorists but the story is about its 2 generations of Japanese men pushing against a society that has already spent their lives satisfying the elder generation's post-nuclear nationalist fears.

Bruh I put on like 20 lbs during the last trimester of my wife's pregnancy and our current parental leave. Unacceptably heavy rn and not in the good brawny way.
I'm back to intermittent fasting (intentional) and intermittent workouts (unintentional) trying to shed this weight. Tired of my coolest clothes bodyshaming me lmao and being winded when I don't think I should be.
Emotionally I'm in a good place so the real "work" is physical.
