¿Sabías que el polémico personaje K9999 de la saga The King of Fighters fue retirado por SNK debido a sus similitudes extremas con Tetsuo Shima de la película Akira?

Introducido en el año 2001, K9999 no solo compartía un diseño físico casi idéntico al del joven psíquico, sino que replicaba sus ataques biológicos mutantes, su capa roja y hasta sus líneas de diálogo exactas. El parecido era tan radical ( por no decir que es un plagio descarado) que la desarrolladora contrató al mismísimo actor de voz original de Tetsuo, Nozomu Sasaki, para interpretar al personaje del videojuego. Ante las evidentes implicaciones de derechos de autor y disputas legales con los creadores del clásico de animación de 1988, la compañía japonesa optó por remover por completo a K9999 de los títulos posteriores y de cualquier material promocional. En su lugar, diseñaron desde cero a un sustituto llamado Nameless para la entrega del año 2009, quien heredó su estilo de juego pero con una apariencia e historia totalmente renovadas para evitar futuros problemas legales.

No moody teens. No special orphans (sorry Leona). No magic bloodline. No sacred treasures. No bosses. No projectiles. No plot relevance.

Just grownups who pay taxes and beat ass.

#KingOfFighters is a fun fighting game and a good reprieve from feeling like I need to improve at Street Fighter 6.

I'm objectively better at SF6 but KoF15 has novelty that I've never fully explored and matchups I've never even considered and I'm having fun.

If I'm not gonna be a tourney player in either game, I should play the one that's fun to improve at right now, the one my friends and I can bond over.

I recently became interested in #KOF series.
I had heard about the series, but I somehow never tried it.
I've been playing KOF '98, 2002 and XV.
The character rosters in '98 and 2002 are huge.
I like KOF '98 the best and XV the least.
I'm glad I tried it. #FGC #gaming
