Lost my job in January due to a reorganisation, but agreed to stay on a bit longer to help smoothen the transfer of my responsibilities and knowledge. But today, my job in a non-profit youth organisation is finally ending and I need to find something else.
Not a programmer and don't know if the Fediverse can help. But if I don't reach out, I know for sure nobody here can help me.

- science educator with experience in development and delivery of engaging activity- and project-based educational events and programs in and out of schools and self-directed informal learning-by-doing programs in a non-profit setting
- PhD in medicine
- data analyst and medical writer, especially medical communication, training and education
- GenX but too young to start contemplating retirement
- multilingual in Norway: Dutch, English, Norwegian (bokmål and nynorsk) and a passive understanding of German, Swedish and DanishLooking for opportunities to use my experience to help our young to take back control over their lives and to help them to learn by doing.

Something that I find really psychologically difficult - especially while trying to find a job - is trying so hard to find my place in tech and needing to feel like I belong, and then at the same time feeling personally attacked by many on "social media" who make sweeping comments about "people in tech".
I know "they don't mean me", right? But even just reading it, because I identify as a Tech Worker, makes me feel like I am morally reprehensible to people.
But even worse, it makes me discouraged from finding tech work.
There are a lot of good, ethical, and supportive people in tech. Maybe in the minority. Let's celebrate THEM and don't let the assholes upstage us by giving them any stage time at all.
Celebrate the good in technology work. Show gratitude for those who help others. Ignore the toxicity, let it fade into a barely noticeable background noise.
