After all these years, I still have a soft spot for the popularization of #Cuban #Son music that resulted after the release of Buena Vista Social Club(Ibraham Ferrar, Omara Portuondo, Ruben Gonzalez, etc.). No regerts.

Lots of indie, instrumentals with some big twangy guitar on my playlist this week.
Especially liking the mid-80's Pell Mell output. Had forgotten they did a little stint on #SSTRecords

Addition by subtraction.
Somehow I had missed the little(!) detail that #Python 3.11 is no longer supported with the release of #Django 6.x.
Now, I(happily) get to run around playing janitor cleaning up deprecated references in my docs & tests. With some extra time on my hands, I do actually enjoy these little bits of busy work.
Once I get through some pre-flight compatibility check lists, I may try out @adamchainz 's django-upgrade app https://django-upgrade.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ to see if it is useful(or confusing) for my little rinky-dink projects.

Really happy with myself, today, being able to walk away from some self-imposed #OpenSource obligations/responsibilities that were causing me some chronic low-level stress & anxiety.
No reward, no feedback, no appreciation is no way to go through life.
Feeling obligated is the worst.
I'm feeling better already.🎉 -
Wow!
So great to see so many people boosting & favoriting this post. Thank you! I appreciate you spreading the word.
I just looking forward to seeing _one_ gullible person to actually volunteer for duty.😆
Please PM me explaining your interest and qualifications.

Interesting how a couple of days of hard moderation has reduced the amount of "ricer" spam dropping bullshit posts to pretty much zero.
Can't tell if it's from banning a couple of chronic posters, or what.
Hope this helps for keeping the sub-reddit clean-ish.*fingers crossed* for chasing the crap away.
It's been a pain in the ass reducing the garbage noise.

As an example, I consider Material design the equivalent of spending an eternity trapped in an international airport bathroom with its banal, homogonized iconography. Sartre's No Exit with its Third Empire furniture.
The lowest common denomenator of readability and understanding.
Skeuomorphic is not the end all be all of UI; but, I find the tendency towards that design aesthetically preferable. And more humane. YMMV.

Of course, in my not so humble opinion, "people" have a really bizarre idea of what constitutes "modern" in term of #UI and #UX design.
As a long-time student of modernism, graphic design, typography, and layout design in general, my personal opinion is probably one of a minority. C'est la Vie. *shrug*

Neat. I've got some homework.
Recently, we(#Xfce) had a U.S. university run a #usability study against the https://www.xfce.org website.
We've got the results of the study back a couple of weeks ago, and there's about 100 pages of evaluation, explanation of methodology, and recommendations for improvement.
I'm looking forward to reading through all of this to help give me a better grasp on areas of improvement.
It's also a good push for me to start thinking better about #accessibility #a11y
Hopefully, I can take some of these recommendations over to improving https://docs.xfce.org
