The biggest thing to remember from @kentbeck Tidy First? is
cost(software) ~= coupling
When reviewing code, designing an architecture or how teams interact, the level of coupling is now an even more important criteria in any decision than before.

I've just purchased my copy of @kentbeck's "Tidy First?: A Personal Exercise in Empirical Software Design." Opted for the physical version, and it's expected to arrive in a couple of weeks. I'm really looking forward to it! 📚😃

Repeating the experiment I did with @kentbeck the past week, I will publish interesting quotes from #MaryPoppendieck. At the end of the week, I will compile all the quotes into a thread.

I've migrated to substack and after reading @kentbeck's #TidyFirst I reflected on how to better incorporate #TDD practices in #DataEngineering, which I've had difficulties with thus far.
I've written about those reflections; feedback is much-appreciated https://cabang.substack.com/p/test-driven-data-engineering
I am very self-conscious about blogging, and don't really share it... but people don't know me IRL on the #fediverse so maybe I'm safe :thinkhappy:

Kent Beck chia sẻ trong podcast gần đây rằng việc bỏ qua "tính linh hoạt" (optionality) trong phát triển phần mềm khiến chi phí tăng cao. Ông nhấn mạnh cần ưu tiên cân nhắc các lựa chọn để duy trì sự linh hoạt và hiệu quả lâu dài. #Agile #PhátTriểnPhầnMềm #KentBeck | #SoftwareDevelopment #AgileManifesto

Can you really claim to be 'customer-driven' while isolating customers from engineers?
Great article by @kentbeck, as usual.

I'm reading Tidy First?, the new book by @kentbeck I am trying to find an analogy in my native language to describe the meaning and difference between coupling and cohesion. I found it in the terminology of human relations — codependency and self-sufficiency.

Ah, Martin Fowler strikes again with his latest installment of "Words, Words, and More Words" 🤯. This time, he treats us to an endless stream of #buzzwords and self-promotion, while somehow managing to turn a conversation with Kent Beck into a 30-minute #snoozefest 💤. Apparently, #AI is the new black, but Fowler's still wearing last season's #jargon. 👔🔄

"This thread concisely summarizes the book. Have hope, fellow geeks, there are better ways to program out there.“
