Unpopular opinion: The Agile Manifesto wasn't written so developers could have a nicer work environment.
It was written so customers could survive in a market that the internet had just blown wide open.
17 people met in Utah in 2001 because waterfall couldn't keep up with market speed. The goal was: deliver software that gives customers a competitive edge fast.
Better team culture? That's a side effect. A welcome one. But not the point.

I come from the world of the #AgileManifesto, #XP, #CleanCode and #TDD.
For me, software development is still a craft - with responsibility, diligence and an obligation to understand. AI tools can support this craft, but they must not replace it.It is out of this tension that the Manifesto for AI-Augmented Software Craftsmanship emerged:

Nachhaltige Produktivität entsteht nicht durch mehr, sondern durch bessere Stunden.
Ausgewogene Workloads, effektives Management und eine gesunde Arbeitsumgebung sind der Schlüssel, nicht die Stechuhr.

Can anyone please point me at a toot that I saw go by in the last month or so?
It outlined how one of the #AgileManifesto signatories realised after the fact (I'm paraphrasing badly here) that the manifesto was in fact a statement of #worker #rights, and they ought to have advocated better for that.
I think there was a link to an article, too.

A long standing frustration that momentarily boiled over, but...
The Agile Manifesto is not worth the screen real estate it's displayed on. It's a bunch of high-flying principles that _sound_ meaningful and momentus but give little actual guidance or functional advice. They might as well have said "Have you tried _not_ being constrained by external factors?"
It's basically a self-help book for software developers around which a cult has formed.

Not working software does not deliver any value for sure!That is the idea behind this principle.
If it is broken, fix it first before doing an other work on it.
The principle does not say that working software is the only one measure. But it is the primary.
