We are looking for legal advice for one of our members.
The family have been told that because the child isn't getting better it must be their fault. Social services have stated they are going to proceed to remove the child and will interview the child next week.
The Drs involved don't believe in Long Covid.
The child can't wash at home as no accessible facilities. The council won't help as they say the illness is temporary.Please DM us if you can help.

Sadly, they chose to protect corporate wealth instead. @augieray I agree. I spent 9 months in bed, unable to walk to the bathroom without my heart rate jumping well over 160, sleeping 20-22 hours per 24. I was unable to shower or wash my hair without assistance. I lost my muscle mass & still can’t exercise to regain it. I still suffer from POTS and extreme fatigue as well as some lingering brain fog when I am really tired. I’ve actually lost my phone & found it in the refrigerator. And I still sleep at least 12 hours every 24. #LongCovidIsNotAJoke

@ZeroCovidColin As someone living with #LongCovid I applaud you. There is no need to take that risk. While not all jobs can be performed remotely, no one whose job is capable of being performed remotely should ever work in an office again. If all employees would band together & insist that all positions capable of being performed remotely are performed that way, employers would have no option. There is power in numbers. The problem is the bullying works on many employees. #LongCovidIsNotAJoke

Maybe one of the most interesting things to me, as a lay person, in https://www.nature.com/articles/s41390-024-03731-1 is (as I read this) a lab Dx for Long Covid in children can be done right now, and distinguishes cleanly from convalescent children without Long Covid symptoms (Figure 4: D, K, and I).
I read this Nature paper as absolutely putting to rest claims that children aren't getting LC or that it's post-2020 trauma and so on. There's been other evidence before but I don't remember other gaps that were so clean.
