Scary Austin

The Last Rose of Summer is a true story about corruption in research. I discovered a cheap, plant-derived drug that could replace some much more toxic (but more lucrative) therapies. got involved and suppressed the research. Eventually I had to publish the story in thinly veiled fiction and survive a bunch of murder attempts.

"Mary Austin" is a pseudonym, as my publisher forced me to use one. So... hi, I'm "Mary." 🤷‍♀️

  1. Also: other than feckless leaders, don't accuse any group of not showing up. Especially young and/or nonwhite people. It's telling on yourself that either you're doing nothing, or you do things but never listen to those groups, or they're avoiding you because you act like a jerk. People are stressed enough without having to placate "get off my lawn" types.

I hang out with young and nonwhite and LGBT protesters all the time, everybody, because everybody is in fact out there.

  2. UPDATE: people are getting arrested for peaceful protest but remain completely undeterred.

  3. Everybody who wants to evict from the Union and abandon all its voter suppressed population to racist eugenicists: this is what people in Florida are doing. What are you doing?

  4. OF COURSE the mutiny of preverts is terrified and threatening us with persecution. Nobody out there protesting is changing a damn thing we're doing in response to Trump's threats to "Antifa." People proudly, sarcastically wear "Antifa" hats and write "8647" on their signs.

Performance artist "Suki" took it to another level, though. They carved this into the grass near Trump's Bed(bug)minster course so he sees it every time he flies in.

  5. Obviously everything about 2.0 is catastrophic but it's always fun to see his sycophants and bribe-givers get burned. What, you dumbfucks thought he would honor a deal?

  6. Assuming you can't readily cast spells, what is your bubble of protection? Multiple responses allowed. Also please comment alternatives because I want ideas.

  7. Everybody needs a bubble of protection. And my theory is everyone has one in various forms.

    Poll to follow.

  8. Oh no it's truuuue 😭

Plus even in the 90s it was ridiculous that they could supposedly afford that apartment.

  9. In addition to the fact that the sperm count issue is neither as bad or nor as simple as Murder Jerky is making it out to be (see link), Dr. Nisha Patel made this great point:

  10. Goddammit, they learned how to read. 😩

  11. Fuck yeah! Via Republicans Against Trump. The are jumping ship more and more often.

  12. Exactly. All the have done with their fiasco is create weaker, less safe "red" seats, and light a fire under everyone to push for SCROTUS reform. It's an own goal, which fortunately seems to be the only kind of goal these people score.

    Fortunately.

  14. Mass mobilizations for Black voters' rights are planned for this weekend in Selma and Montgomery . They are part of a national day of action for voting rights.

  15. State Representative Justin Jones of the "Tennessee Three" burned a paper Confederate flag in protest at racist in .

Now TN Speaker of the House / Grand Dragon Cameron Sexton has retaliated by removing Jones from all committee assignments. Recall that last time, when the state House expelled Jones for peaceful protest against gun violence, he got voted right back in and became a national hero.

You can judge the value of everyone's actions by the response.

  16. There's a lot of talk, with good reason, about Democrats needing to embrace the majority opinion of "Abolish ICE" to win. But what about MAGA?

Well, one ultra state senator is finding out the hard way that backing isn't popular at all with farmers. Several large dairies stopped doing business with her husband in response to the harm her policies are doing to their farms. It's cost their family 80% of their income.

    Womp womp.

  17. Ha! Oversight Democrats filed a resolution declaring Pam Bondi in contempt of Congress and JUST LIKE THAT the Republicans scheduled a date (May 29th) for her to be deposed. Thank you, Rep. Crockett!

  18. Gov Abigail Spanberger is making Nazis cry in ! Remember that the "Unite the Right" rally in happened because the city was getting rid of Confederate monuments. Nazis really get in their feels about their ahistorical "history."

We are *still* dealing with the Confederacy's legacy of cruelty, racism and failure. That history never should have been romanticized, let alone at state expense.
