For all the repression and sheer brutality meted out to US protesters this year, none of it seemed to be able to protect a Vance speech at Lakeland International Airport's "Sun n Fun Expo Center" from activists. A small crew gathered outside with signs among other things demanding the release of all of the Epstein files.
No doubt security was focussed on covertly monitoring the protest they could see. They failed to realize that hecklers had gotten under their radar and were inside. As Vance spoke he was heckled. This is not on the video as I was outside. Multiple hecklers were dragged out, unknown at this time if there were any arrests inside.
There were scattered incidents of yelling and harassment by MAGA meatheads in cars, and at least one cop car drove by seemingly at wide open throttle.
Early voting in Florida starts in just over two weeks, so presumably Vance's appearance was a campaign event not for himself in particular (he is not on the ballot) but rather for the Grand Old Pedophiles in general.
While this was not a large protest, remember that this is folks with the courage to step up to the plate even after the Prairieland case, the Minnesota 15 case, the Autistici/Inventi "terror" designation, all the other bullshit legal cases, and NSPM-7. The risks today are no worse than what my father's generation had to deal with on the battlefield stopping the last round of Nazis.
