I want to make a #YouTube channel where I do one of the lamer crafts (decoupage maybe?) but it's mostly just a drama channel where I talk shit about specific people in the decoupage community in a really vague way. We all know that Sandra knows what she's done, and she's the reason people aren't flocking to #decoupage. Also I heard she uses cheap glue and doesn't seal properly which is why all her projects are yellowing and peeling. Get your shit together Sandra.

When you think about Twitter as a weapon against a disastrous egregore - one that gave us Trump by accident and Biden by intent - then Twitter itself really doesn't matter that much.
It's why I don't mourn Twitter's... whatever this is. It doesn't matter. The egregore does.
People need to be thinking for themselves, not thinking as the egregore dictates. Even benevolent egregores are "bad," because WE ARE HUMANS.

One counterargument, though, is that Musk is conducting an information war against the egregore - a concept that's very appealing - by feeding it more information than it can distribute effectively.
People have to have time to read and integrate commands from the egregore: "feel this way about X!"
And he's basically giving the egregore a new X before it can finish the command to its worker neurons.
"Feel this way abo- feel this way ab- feel this way - feel -" in a constant loop.

@gbevin @codegeek @airspeedswift Not just growth, but interaction. When I can learn about people I wasn't expecting to encounter on Mastodon, when it starts challenging my worldview because the federation goes beyond my little echo chamber I've set up... and when it does so regularly, THAT's when I'll start to wonder if critical mass has been reached.
When it spawns a benevolent #egregore, we'll have done something worth doing.
