Honest question; outside of voting, what interaction are we able to have with our representatives to talk to them, question them, and encourage them to legislate one way or another?
I contacted the senior senator for my locale with a direct question that could have been answered with three or four words. All I got was a form response that didn't address what I asked. He isn't doing physical or virtual town halls, so is a black box to those of us he represents.

You're never going to get more than a 'yes', 'no', 'I don't know', or 'have you asked Jeeves?', it's a constraint of the medium.
Thoughtfulness is discouraged, response on IM is a system 1 activity.
