Dragon’s tooth. Some people climb the tooth to have a picture at the top. Not me.
Up the rock face you go. Where the white blazes lead, I must follow -

I think #denote is going to change the way I work after ~40 years of thinking in terms of directories and folders.

I've put up my #emacscarnival post for December. A look at #emacs in the 70s and some of the people who threw me in the swift flowing stream that's taken me ... well. read for yourself. http://curious.galthub.com/blog/2025-12-10/
Who is to thank/blame for the hours you've spent twidding your config? More posts welcome https://curious.port111.com/2025/11/01/emacs-carnival-december-the-people.html

@nina looks like you're nearing the end of revelation. Wonderful work, thanks.
If you need another source of ancient inspiration, I suggest the shield of Achilles https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shield_of_Achilles
In audio form, #Homer goes on for about 20 minutes describing scenes of life and mythology depicted on the shield. I can't imagine trying to draw it, let alone cast it in bronze. I guess if you're the god of craftsman, it's no problem.
Then there are all the battle scenes in the #illiad.

@bkhan @imakefoss I use Linux 'cause unfortunately the BSDs didn't really take off as well* as Linux did and #SunOS, #VMS and #TOPS20 are not really viable options anymore.
* Insert long discussion about the FreeBSD layer on top of the Mach kernel that is (apple not Cisco) IOS here.

#longfellow "A psalm of life"
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.Life is real! Life is earnest
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul...."

In which#Knuth gets annoyed at his publishers, creates #tex changing the course of academic publishing and #literate #programming and and sowes the seeds of #jupyter notebooks et al.
In which George gets annoyed at a complicated #bash rc file, turns his bashrc into a literate program, writes this blog post about it https://eludom.github.io/blog/bashrc/ and does not change the world.
Thanks @@[email protected]

And the beat goes on in the #security and #privacy cat-and-mouse-game:
The Internet/#IETF roll out encrypted #DNS and #ESNI to hide the web sites you're browsing: https://blog.cloudflare.com/esni/
And the #greatfirewall (and Paul Vixie) block it: https://www.zdnet.com/article/china-is-now-blocking-all-encrypted-https-traffic-using-tls-1-3-and-esni/
