I'm fooling around with a very ancient installation of #UNIX.
There's a small binary /bin/chball -- 76 bytes, but no documentation.
Took me a while: turns out, that is needed when the ball-head in the typewriter-style terminal is changed (think of IBM Selectric if you don't know what I mean).
Well, I guess I won't really need that command anymore... 🤓

In today's episode of "Save files are hard":
Do I want to keep save files as raw binary data or do I save everything in a text file in JSON format?
Using raw binary:
- ✅ Smaller file size
- ✅ Faster to read
- ❎ Updates that change the format may break existing save files
Using JSON:
- ✅ No specific format expected, meaning it's future-proof
- ✅ Easily readable
- ❎ Larger file size (from a few KB to a few MB)
- ❎ Longer loading times -
