Durante buena parte del siglo XX, la homosexualidad no se entendía.
Se clasificaba.La psiquiatría de la época la trataba como una enfermedad, una desviación que debía corregirse.
Y eso no era solo teoría.
Tenía consecuencias reales.
Hombres —y también mujeres— fueron internados, diagnosticados y sometidos a procedimientos que hoy cuesta mirar sin incomodidad.Uno de los más extremos fue la lobotomía.
No era un tratamiento en el sentido real de la palabra.
Era una intervención que dañaba el cerebro con la idea de “apagar” comportamientos considerados problemáticos.
El resultado muchas veces no era una cura, sino personas más lentas, más dóciles, más desconectadas de sí mismas.En ese contexto aparece Walter Freeman, una figura clave para entender hasta dónde llegó esta práctica en Estados Unidos.
En 1946 popularizó la lobotomía transorbital, un método que evitaba el quirófano y que se realizaba introduciendo un instrumento por la cuenca del ojo.
Era rápido, barato… y brutal.Freeman recorrió el país realizando miles de intervenciones.
Se calcula que practicó más de 3.000 a lo largo de su carrera, dentro de una época en la que decenas de miles de personas fueron sometidas a este tipo de cirugías.Y entre esos pacientes también hubo personas homosexuales.
La documentación histórica es clara en esto: la lobotomía y otras formas de psicocirugía se aplicaron a personas etiquetadas como “homosexuales” o “sex psychopaths”.
En aquel momento, amar a alguien del mismo sexo podía bastar para ser considerado enfermo, peligroso o socialmente inaceptable.No hacía falta haber cometido ningún delito.
Bastaba con existir fuera de la norma.
Por eso esta parte de la historia pesa tanto.
Porque no se trata solo de una técnica médica fallida.
Se trata de un sistema que utilizó la medicina como herramienta de control.No buscaba entender.
Buscaba corregir.
Y en muchos casos, corregir significaba borrar.
Borrar comportamientos, borrar identidad, borrar cualquier rastro de lo que no encajaba en lo que la sociedad consideraba aceptable.
Llamarlo tratamiento hacía que todo pareciera legítimo, cuando en realidad estaba muy lejos de serlo.Mirarlo hoy incomoda, pero también sirve para algo sencillo: recordar hasta qué punto una idea equivocada, respaldada por autoridad médica, puede convertirse en algo profundamente dañino.

Thanks to a Substack Note from Knights Templar North America actually sent on 10/7, I finally watched a Youtube video entitled, “A Biblical Response to Tucker Carlson & J.D. Hall on Christian Zionism (Part 1)”. The video was posted on Youtube on July 3, 2026 from Youtube channel Rock Harbor Church Bakersfield. Here is the Youtube Channel Description:

Founded upon an unwavering commitment to “anchor ourselves to the rock of Christ,” we teach the entire Bible verse by verse from Genesis to Revelation, and seek to apply its truth to our daily lives in order to go deeper in our walk with the Lord. We believe that the Bible is God’s Holy Word, and that it contains God’s perfect plan to redeem humanity from sin, through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.”

Under the Meet The Staff page, I’ve discerned the video speaker is Brandon Holthaus who is the Senior Pastor. The Pastor Holthaus page has three paragraphs explaining his call to ministry. Below I excerpt the third paragraph which essentially explains his credentials to minister the Word of God:
“Brandon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Columbia University, New York, NY. He also holds both a Master of Arts in Religion degree, (Cum Laude), and a Master of Divinity, (Cum Laude) from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary, Lynchburg, VA. Brandon’s areas of emphasis include: prophecy, discernment, apologetics, Jewish culture and background, and Biblical worldview polemics. Brandon also has weekly prophecy updates, sermons, and other Bible studies on YouTube (Search: Rock Harbor Church Bakersfield) Rumble (Search: RHC Bakersfield) and Vimeo (Search for: Rock Harbor Church Prophecy). The video bills the post as Part One. After a cursory search on the Youtube Channel, I could not find a Part Two. Part One is so good at repudiating Tucker Carlson & J.D. Hall, if I found a Part Two I would have included it. If you run into a Part Two, YOU should watch it!
In full disclosure, I used to be a huge Tucker fan as he advocated for President Trump’s positions and against the Biden-era COVID Tyranny. Then some kind of nut went –boing– in Tucker’s thinking and he became infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome and Antisemitism. There are plenty of Antisemites, Antiwar extremists and Trump haters out there that the Tucker bandwagon is preserved. Also in full disclosure, I am a bit of an Isolationist these believing the USA should begin disentangling itself foreign interests that has entangled in foreign conflicts that have little to do with American National Interests linked to America’s heritage. The Ukraine-Russia war is an idiotic war the USA should stay out of.
HOWEVER, the resurgence of evil Islam is a problem America should and must face as it affects our Liberty (as opposed to Sharia tyranny) and our Christian heritage (as opposed to Islamic Supremacism). ALSO, I’m a Christian Zionist. My Christian Zionism supports Israel’s existence simply because it is a sign that Jesus Christ will be Returning. Is Israeli politics perfect? No more than Deep State infected USA politics is perfect. Israel has its own share of Leftist extremists and Jewish Religious extremists that frankly are not always friendly to Christians.
BUT STILL God’s Promises to the descendants of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob lead to Jesus on the human side. And the Divine side of Jesus is a Promise to Return as King of Israel to both the descendants of Abraham and to the Gentiles engrafted into those Promises by faith in the Risen Savior. In the mean time will the government of Israel make mistakes? Undoubtedly! But guess what – so will also the divided government of the USA make mistakes. As Christians we MUST trust God and vote the BIBLE knowing in the END Christ the Redeemer wins and the enemies of God Almighty lose.
