  1. They opened for the Rolling Stones at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on my birthday in October of 1989 and they kicked ASS. And how relevant is the song these days?

  2. Good heavens, it’s Friday. I could do this all night and once upon a time at my first radio station gig in the 80s out yonder in the Nebraska panhandle, I did. With stuff like this. Of course, back then at 19, late night radio air shifts were a different matter. Now, at 62, things are a wee bit different. Thankfully, I still like to rock. You’re welcome.

  3. One from the other guy who did some time with Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow before a stint with Black Sabbath and then solo. It kicks ass.

No sign of the morning coming

  4. Got his break with Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and then went off to some solo 8os success with stuff like this. While at my first radio gig in the mid 80s, I took the liberty of making sure there was some frequent airplay for this one.

  5. Just to piss off the MAGAts I can hear toolin around nearby; a little more of the Arabic pop I brought back from Iraq after my 2004 deployment. I’m sure the fuckers love this. What are they gonna do? Send me back to Iraq? 😁

  6. Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow. In addition to all his work with Deep Purple, Ritchie passed off to us other artists like Ronnie James Dio and Tony Carey. Thanks, Ritchie. And I’m feeling this one on deck.

  7. Michael Bolton was unknown for the most part in 1983 when he opened for Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band in Minneapolis in the spring of 1983. I was there for that one.

  8. On the subject of “Gimme All Your Lovin’”; the Minneapolis stop of the “Eliminator” was actually the most disappointing of the concerts I was able to attend in Minneapolis during 1983 as ZZ Top only played for about 90 minutes. After seeing concerts four hours plus in length from Tom Petty, The Kinks and Bob Seger, it was a bit of a letdown. Still, though, I’m a fan of that Li’l Ol’ Band from Texas.

  9. From the late 60s one hit wonder file here on deck; somewhere in my album collection is this Ronco-type album that has a bunch of different songs from the late 60s and early 70s my mom got for me and my little brother 50 some years ago and this was but one of the gems on that record. It’s some classic R&B.

  10. When living in Minneapolis during 1983 and attending the radio/television broadcast course at Brown Institute I became familiar with the work of this band from Kansas City. This rocks.

I feel the earth and the sky Touching our lives Tonight
    An indescribable force, somehow

  11. Cat check as I make my way inside for some Driftless Glen bourbon, a product of western Wisconsin and pretty tasty (this would be the rye); Nubs all cuddled up in the cat bed next to the deck’s sliding door. Gizmo, the spaz, is somewhere and no doubt jammin as I am on deck to the Trower.

  12. Holy crap it’s not even 7 p.m. “Chicago time” as gramma Jopek used to say. This Bulliet Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey pour is about done. Scuse me while I get just a little more. Besides, I should probably check on Nubs and GTMO - I mean, Gizmo. 😉

  13. Some of that Arabic pop music I brought back from my 2004 deployment to northern Iraq. Just to piss off MAGTs everywhere. 😁

  14. Sing it, Gordo.

I can see her lyin' back in her satin dress
In a room where you do what you don't confess
    Sundown, you'd better take care
If I find you've been creepin' 'round my back stairs

  15. 🤔😳😄

  16. Uh oh. Guess I better not be playing any of my Arabic music I brought back from Iraq. That may irritate the MAGAts.

  17. In today’s “How in hell is it Friday already?” department; it’s the last warm evening (65 degrees) for some time up yonder so I think I’ll skip the baseball game and enjoy the evening out here in this little corner of northern Wisconsin.

  18. Does kinda boggle one’s mind. Then again, what actions of any MAGAts don’t? 🤔

  19. RE: xoxo.zone/@Ashedryden/11748712

While you’re gazing she’s thinkin “What the hell are you looking at, asshole?”

  20. I didn’t watch the Chicago Bears defeat the New England Patriots last night ‘cause I’m not gonna pay for Amazon Prime but it was glorious when everyone (mostly Packers fans) showed up at work this morning and I played for them a tune they despise. The fact the Milwaukee Brewers are in game one of the World Series tonight and they’re all freakin out about that makes it that much more glorious. I’m such an asshole. 😁

  21. And there it is, folks — the head of the Department of What Used To Be Justice will not rule out meddling in the upcoming midterms.

You have to love how the Toddinator pretends that if he has no choice but to step in and attempt to halt the certification process, it’s because he has to, not because he wants to. Y’know, for the good of the county.

  22. 87 Octane up here in my neck of the woods (literally) at $4.69 a gallon this morning.

“The memo comes as the price of gas and diesel has soared across the country amid supply disruptions caused by the U.S. and Israel’s war against Iran. Brent crude futures rose 1.2% to $114.47 a barrel early Friday, extending gains after Thursday hit a five-month high.” - Miranda Jeyaretnam

  23. S’kay, Nubs. I don’t really wanna get up and face the world today, either.
