This is a great instance for a number of reasons!
One of the things that I really like - which others may find odd - is that sometimes when I am about to log on, nothing is trending. The page is empty except for the words, "Nothing is trending at the moment."
Another is that moderator(s) are conscientious enough to send a warning occasionally about a new follower that might be a little shady.
It is a great little instance! Happy to be welcomed here!

@Mastodon I want to post 5000 characters in the iOS app, but it’s limited to 500 characters and I have to go to the web interface (or another app) to be able to post longer. How do I make this work for my account on #ZeroesCa? I have tried removing and reinstalling the app, signing in again etc. I can’t find a setting for it. cc: @zeroes

I was fascinated when I first read Asimov's Foundation. I thought "Wow, what if science could predict our future?".
Nonetheless, we can all do that now, thanks to the architects of the #Fediverse #Mastodon or the instance I'm in #ZeroesCA
The hard part is extracting what will be/is useful now.
Just follow as many people as you can, here's one in the link below, there are so many more. What they have in common is imo #solidarity, it's as important as #LowTechnology. Following is the way to build your personalised algorithm.
There are other people who help, not only by writing but also by sharing other people's thoughts and I hope probably in the near future organising these thoughts. Even a little "Favourite" is an encouragement for a thinker or butterfly/bee/colibri to keep going.
We feed a personalised algorithm and at the same time a #CommonGood, useful and practical knowledge for all those who have access to it. -

Point the second. As my second attached screenshot proves, THIS ARTICLE IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND ON THE ACTUAL FORTUNE.COM WEBSITE.

Naw that's it I came here for #cooking and #food and #startrek posts and to keep on top of what #COVID is doing but all I see on #zeroesca and #zeroCOVID / #COVIDZero is that the same f%^king BS has migrated from the avian droppings container, and my fellow PWDs are falling for it, hook, line and sinker. DO NOT FALL FOR IT I CAN SEE WHAT THEY'RE DOING. My zeroes peeps, please, please, be wary!
As the bad state actors TARGET THE DISABLED WITH DISINFORMATION and fear-mongering when we are already anxious enough hello this is not okay! In what universe is this kind of state-sanctioned #ableism okay???
The worst part about it is, zeroes.ca and zero COVID does have legit information - but when it's buried in the midst of what is obvious disinformation...it's f#$%ing #Twitter all over again.
