Look, I have had a bug up my nose about Xenoblade 2 since release, but the new merc assault mode for Switch 2 looks kinda fun. I'm not allowed to replay it, but I hope the rest of you have fun.
(Short version: I played it at its buggy worst, pre map fix even, while reading abolitionist literature, terrible combination. Dozens injured as a result, Youngest now has the chip in safekeeping.)

Maybe Xenoblade 2's shop tutorial could've been better if it explained that shops on higher floors aren't inherently better and they only chose Fishy Fishy because it's cheap and wouldn't cost too much for early game to buy everything.

If you think about it, there's a hint right there the whole time that Alrest is Earth, since one of the elements in its elemental system is earth and not ground or rock or anything else they could've picked. That may or may not be a coincidence.

I find it difficult to charge up Mythra's specials beyond level 1 because she keeps going "Let me take it! (insert angry pout or whatever emoticon would fit here)" and I just keep giving in and handing the sword over.

Finding out about how Sticker Star ended up after thinking there was at least the stuff in the original E3 2010 trailer even if the rest of the game wasn't that good was like Rex and everyone else standing in the real Elysium next to the tree for the first time.

After Mythra returned crawling through the rubble of the First Low Orbit Station, she told Pneuma and Malos "You should try Xenoblade, you'd love it" as if they were still alive. The song that played was "Elysium, in the Blue Sky".

I really have to compliment Xenogears' whole final boss sequence. It's really fun.
Like, I think it's better than Xenoblade 2's and 3's final boss fights.
And fuel management during it is also good so that one moment alone beats Xenoblade X's whole fuel management (which pretty much doesn't really exist)

To this day, I still can't believe how Monolith thought that locking the later added hard mode in Xenoblade 2 behind the Expansion Pass was in any way acceptable.
Even worse when, at least for me, normal mode was too easy and also easier than what the previous Xenoblade games had offered.
Thankfully, they didn't do that again in Xenoblade 3.

I think some of the worst moments in a Xenoblade game is when near the end it now requires something specific (or it makes something useless) during a fight when it was never before.
With the worst case scenario being that you have to stop your progress and grind money/exp which you really don't want to during the final parts.
At least it's rare, only Xenoblade 2 and the new content in Xenoblade X DE have those moments I think.

While, all in all, I was largely disappointed with Xenoblade 2, the story of the final parts of the game is my favorite of the series.
Also, it's final, "proper" dungeon is probably my favorite final dungeon and area of the series as well. But I still don't why its length didn't bother me because other final dungeons with similar length felt just exhausting halfway through.
