  1. Well here it is. My new x870 board to replace my malfunctioning X670E. Exciting to have USB4 now! Not excited to rebuild my daily driver the day before work because I rely on this PC for work. Hoping for a smooth swap! #AMD #X670E #X870 #motherboard #pcmasterrace

  2. Guys, need some #help!

My #Samsung 980 Pro is super slow, at linear reads at only 2.4GB/s. (reading from raw disk, or even hdparm):

    hdparm -tT /dev/nvme0n1

    Timing cached reads: 55168 MB in 1.99 seconds = 27696.71 MB/sec
    Timing buffered disk reads: 7258 MB in 3.00 seconds = 2418.68 MB/sec

Mainboard is a #MSI #X670E Gaming Plus WiFi with a Ryzen #7950X3D CPU.

    lspci is reporting:
    LnkCap: Port #0, Speed 16GT/s, Width x4
    LnkSta: Speed 16GT/s, Width x4

  3. About time #Gigabyte fixed #XMP working on their #Aorus Master #x670e board. When I first built this rig in Sept 2022 (release day), my RAM ran at 5200, the entire system was perfect. Then every BIOS update after that busted it, I had to run stock until now with f33b when XMP started working again (I don't have EXPO RAM). Needless to say, never touching this #BIOS again! If it ain't broke.... #amd

  5. After several days of troubleshooting with #Asrock support in NL regarding the issues with Displayport 1.4 outputs on my Asus 1070 GPU and X670E PG Lightning mainboard not displaying the UEFI menus or boot logo I have found the following:

    1. None of the options in the UEFI menus which might potentially help have had any effect. This includes enabling CSM, disabling the iGPU and many other obscure settings, or which there are legion.

    2. With one HDMI connected monitor connected to the GPU (or iGPU) the UEFI menus display correctly

    3. If I force my Dell 27" gaming monitor into Displayport 1.1a mode then the UEFI menus and the OS boot logo is displayed correctly (with any other monitors connected remaining blank)

    4. My previous platform which was a Gigabyte X570 mainboard with a Ryzen 3600 CPU had no issues with displaying the UEFI or boot logo ect when connected using this monitor in Displayport 1.4a mode

    5. I suspect that Asrock may begin to argue that my ASUS ROG STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING GPU has a compatibility issue but because of (4) I doubt this is the case.

So there we are. If you happen to have a monitor connected to perhaps one of many GPU's with this setup or similar you may also have issues with the UEFI menus or boot logo NOT appearing rendering access to the UEFI settings awkward at best 🤔

I'll update when I have more. Hopefully Asrock Taiwan will take this seriously and investigate to see if there is a UEFI module modification they can implement for full Displayport support across all GPU's 🙃

Asrock support have been very helpful and many of their suggestions could have worked. This is still an excellent motherboard.
