Photograph, Jones-McIntosh Wedding
This is a studio photograph of the wedding of Mary Jones and James McIntosh, which took place in 1931. At the time, Mary was 22 and James 26. Mary was the daughter of Barbara and Henry Jones. Henry died in 1910, when Mary was only a baby, in a steeplechase accident whilst following the hounds at a Hunt Club Meeting. James grew up on his family farm at Brighton, just out of Dunedin. The couple had three children together. We believe they lived on Pine Hill Road, Dunedin, and James worked as a storeman. Mary died in 1979 aged 70 years. Her ashes were scattered. James died in 1994 aged 88. He is buried in the Green Island Cemetery with his parents, brother George and his grandmother, Christina. Cemetery records show that James mother, Elizabeth, was living with Mary and James at the time of her death. We have been unable to establish how this family connects to our area. Perhaps one of their children later lived in the Lower Mataura Valley.

This immediately smells to me like the opening of broader reduction in access to librarians.

Drama this morning and yesterday. As noted, our LGA, #Wyndham , is bringing in new rules confining cats to property 24 hrs instead of just 22:00-06:00. Our property is unsuitable for imprisoning cats, so Penny must become an indoors cat.
With the cat condo ready, we implemented the new order. Theoretically we have until the end of the month, but we need the training.
It's ... not going well. Much crying at doors and windows. Much pacing back and forth over us in bed. 😿

I didn't ask for this. I didn't consent to this. These emails just came out of the blue, about a day apart.
I don''t even have an actual Wyndham login, but I suppose I gave them my email years ago at a check-in counter, and now they're in cahoots with Ticketmaster using it to build an even deeper customer profile of anyone that has the same email with both services.
This has re-motivated me to continue the #degoogle process I've been slowly working on, which includes setting up different masked email addresses for every service.

Victorian Environment Minister Steve Dimopoulos has announced $900k for more trees for Melbourne's west.
We think this is a great initiative. More canopy shade to combat #UrbanHeat as temperatures rise with climate change (Silly humans not reigning in #Fossilfuels fast enough so now you have to adapt). And more places for us to leave scent messages (peemails).
Western Melbourne has the lowest tree canopy cover in metropolitan Melbourne, with just 5.5% of urban tree cover in Melbourne as of 2018.
Now if only State Planning Department would update the data on vegetation and urban heat which is now 5 years old.
